General Purpose: Generate and maintain transgenic and mutant zebrafish lines; screen and genotype zebrafish using conventional PCR. Should conduct experiments using zebrafish as a model and analyze gene expression in specific cell types using in situ hybridization, immunofluorescence, FACS sorting, RNA-Seq, real time PCR, confocal microscopy among other technics. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. May assist research and support staff.
Requirements: 1) Bachelor’s degree in a biological related field (i.e.: Biology or Biochemistry), 2) Intention to apply to the PhD program from the Physiology department (PUC) to project future work in the laboratory, 3) Verifiable experience in molecular and cell biology technics.
Enthusiastic, highly motivated, strong ethic, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in laboratory management are preferred.
