Hi! At Kura Biotech we’re searching for a highly motivated scientist whose role will be essential to develop the next generation of enzymes for Genetics, Proteomics, and Toxicology in our headquarters location in Puerto Varas, Chile.
Kura Biotech is the world leading biotech company in the development of enzymes for toxicology, and we are expanding into providing enzymatic tools for proteomic and genetic applications. Since 2020 we’ve also been developing COVID testing kits.

What would your responsibilities be:
- Design and apply a broad range of molecular biology techniques for the construction, expression and screening of enzyme libraries
- Development and optimization of expression protocols
- Perform a variety of biochemical assays and enzyme screening using different analytical techniques
- Prepare reports on assigned projects for internal and external use
- Actively participate in R&D initiatives and group discussions
- Perform other related duties as assigned and based on company needs
What the requirements to apply are:
- BSc or MSc in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biology or in related field
- At least 2 years of relevant full-time R&D experience
- Understanding of molecular biology cloning techniques
- Experience with expression systems for recombinant proteins
- Knowledge in generation of libraries, assay development, high throughput screening and/or enzyme characterization is a plus
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Excellent communication skills and project management
- Team work skills
- Curiosity and strong research passion
