Postdoctoral Position in Stem cells (Fondef Project), Cells for Cells-Universidad de los Andes

Desired Skills: We are looking for an independent, motivated and enthusiastic post-doc with experience MSC cells culture with and without feeder conditions; lineage differentiation suing specific transcription or growth factors; progenitor cell biology and cell culture; animal handling/surgery; cell transplantation; viral vectors; physiological testing; histology and microscopy; molecular biology and basic biochemistry. The candidate should also bring a strong desire to prepare manuscripts and mentor technicians and students.

The candidate will be part of a government funded project which has as goal to produce science-based innovations.
The candidate is also required to establish collaboration with other departments and universities nationally and internationally.

Tasks

– To develop new cell-based product used as novel therapy in different disease models.
– To take part in the creative process for its development and as well in the establishment of new related research lines.
– To participate in research activities and teaching sessions.
– Apply for funding through national research funds (e.g. CONICYT) or international source
– Translational research

Requirements
– A PhD scientist: research experience in cellular biology, biochemist or similar with interest in Regenerative Medicine.
– Preferred qualifications include a good experience in stem cell research.
– We will specifically look for top publications, perspectives to establish collaborations, and promising trajectory for development into one of the future leaders in the field.
– Excellent communication skills between faculty and staff of different backgrounds.

Conditions
The successful candidate will be appointed as a fulltime researcher within Cells for Cells, located in University of the Andes, Santiago-Chile.
