About this position
IMPACT is looking for talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to participate in the development of electroactive polymeric composites, 3D models design and 3D printing scaffold for tissue engineering. The research fellow will formulate new biomaterials based on a biocompatible polymer matrix filled with active nanoparticles. The project involves the use of technical skills in the field of chemistry of materials, micro-/biofabrication and molecular biology. Some methodologies include synthesis of nanoparticles, polymer processing, design/fabrication by 3D printing technology and biological evaluation of materials.
Duties and responsibilities
- Formulation of electroactive polymeric nanocomposites based on percolation process
- Designing and fabrication of 3D scaffolds with the formulated nanocomposites using advanced material design such as those based on mechanical metamaterials
- Evaluate the biological performance of scaffolds in vitro
- Analyzing and interpreting data
- Preparation of written reports
- Presentations at national and international meetings
- Preparation and publication of scientific articles
- Preparation and submission of grant applications
- Co-supervising master and undergraduate students
Ideal candidates should commit to two-year postdoctoral investigation and hold a doctoral degree in materials science, chemistry, biotechnology, or similar areas. Preferred qualifications for candidates are experience in chemical synthesis and characterization of smart materials, polymer composites, 3D printing, biomaterials, bioinks, and tissue engineering. Candidates must have proficient productivity in science, teamwork aptitudes and good communication in English.
