Doctoral and Postdoctoral Positions financed by Project Anillo ATE2200045
The Green Technology Research Group (GTech) at Universidad de los Andes Chile and the School of Biochemical Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso are looking for two talented and motivated postdoctoral researchers and two doctoral students to join the Project Anillo ATE220045.
Duties and responsibilities for each postdoctoral position are:
- Designing and conducting experiments
- Analyzing and interpreting data
- Preparation of written reports
- Presentations at national and international meetings
- Preparation and publication of scientific articles
- Preparation and submission of grant applications
- Supervising master and undergraduate students
Postdoc 1 description
The candidate will carry out her or his investigation at the Green Technology Research Group (GTech) at Universidad de los Andes, Santiago, Chile.
Ideal candidates should commit to 35 months postdoctoral investigation and hold a doctoral and bachelor’s degrees in biochemical, biotechnology, chemical, environmental engineering, or similar areas. Preferred qualifications for candidates are strong experience in molecular biology in bacteria -including molecular cloning and gene knockouts- and fermentation ranging from shake flask to benchtop bioreactors. Candidates must have proficient productivity in science and engineering, teamwork aptitudes and good communication in English.

Postdoc 2 description
The candidate will carry out her or his investigation at the School of Biochemical Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree at the contract date (aprox. April 2023) and a bachelor’s degree in biochemical or chemical engineering, biotechnology, microbiology or similar areas. Experience in anaerobic microbial cultures and fermentations at bench scale. Experience in enzymatic or microbial electrochemical systems is desirable. Candidates must have proficient productivity in science and engineering, teamwork aptitudes and good communication in English.
The position considers a contract for one year renewable.

Project Anillo ATE2200045 offers one scholarship for Doctoral students accepted or enrolled in Doctoral programs of Biochemical Engineering or Biotechnology at PUCV. Applicants are welcome until the end of March.
Thesis topics will be related with the scope of the project:
- Bioelectrochemcal systems
- Anaerobic bioconversion of CO2
- Biocatalysis for CO2 conversion
