The Laboratory of Neurophysiology offers a postdoctoral opportunity to study the role of glycine receptors in brain neurons. We are studying the role of these receptors on alcohol addiction. We use a diversity of techniques such as confocal microscopy, molecular biology, patch clamp, optogenetics, AAVs technology and animal behavior studies. This position is funded by a highly competitive international grant and considers collaborations with labs in the US and EU.
The position is for two years, and renewable for up to three years. It is best suited for proactive, goal-oriented, recently graduated Ph.D.s with experience in two or more techniques already mentioned and willing to live and work in Chile. The selected applicant is expected to be able to work in a collaborative manner and be productive publishing results in ISI Journals. We offer a competitive salary.
